Social interaction inevitably shapes who we are, yet it can also blur the original contours of our identity. Balancing the weight of a full-time routine while navigating the constant, scrutinising gaze of the world, we often find ourselves faltering under the heavy expectations of others; or perhaps, we grow too eager to voice our own perspectives, forgetting how to truly listen.

Exhibited at the RETINA: Loupe Residency Exhibition in 2021, this series serves as an exploration of these intricate, unspoken psychological states. The artwork intertwines traditional jewellery materials with the conceptual element of reflective mirrors. If the primary function of a mirror is merely to reflect our outward appearance in the eyes of the world, this series challenges that singular gaze—inviting both the wearer and the viewer to look through the layers of refraction, glimpse their innermost selves, and reclaim their true, unaltered beauty.

社會互動在無形中塑造了我們的模樣，卻也同時模糊了我們最本來的輪廓。在日復一日的生活步調中，面對外界審視的目光，我們有時會因太過在意他人的評價而變得步履蹣跚；又或許，我們有時太急於表達自我，卻忘了如何傾聽。

這套於 2021 年周大福駐留成果展《RETINA》所展出的戒指系列，正是對這些難以言喻的心理狀態的探索。作品將傳統的首飾物料，與帶有觀念性的鏡面結合。如果鏡子的基本功能僅僅是反射我們在世人眼中的外在模樣，那麼這系列作品則試圖打破這種單向的凝視——它邀請佩戴者與觀者透過層層折射，窺探自己最真實的內心，並重新找回那份未經修飾的純粹之美。
